Makeup 101

If you were to know me as a child you would have never guessed I would turn out to be such a girlie girl! I was the play in the mud, go fishing, never wear a dress kind of girl...

See we all had to wear jeans because I did not want to put on a dress even for our family picture. (yes, I am aware of what a brat I was haha) Top from left to right: Kristin, Lance , Bottom left to right: Logan, then little me!

Well that all changed slowly as I became older and even more after I had my daughter.

 Isn't she so cute?!? Don't you want to just pinch those chubby cheeks? 

Being a new mother is wonderful however, the down side to motherhood is you are trapped at home. You become a slave to feeding and changing that cute bundle of joy! ( especially if you are nursing , can I get an amen to the women who stayed out to long and started leaking through their shirt?! Haha TMI )

Anyways..... Long story to say during my incarceration as a new mother I fell I love with makeup!

I fell in love with how makeup made me feel... I know we as women should feel beautiful all the time and beauty comes from the inside.... Tell that to a new mother and they just may smack you!

 I love how just a dab of gloss or a swipe of mascara really makes me feel...like I am apart of the living again (even though no one will truly see me...hey maybe the mail man appreciates my efforts not to look like a zombie)

I want you all to know how amazing YouTube is and your saying yeah little late on that one Katie we all know this!!! But no for real youtube ='s awesome I have learned so many tutorials such as the application of makeup , what to use for your face shape, what not to use on your face, etc. etc. etc.....

I fell in love with a "YouTuber" (<------is that even a word? Haha)

Her name is Kandee Johnson .  Her blog and youtube videos truly are so fun and always up lifting. Her sweet, kind, caring, and creative personality just can't help but reach through your screen. Click on her link I don't even care if you finish reading my blog I promise she will bring you joy!

Once I started really getting into makeup I had the opportunity to take part in a few weddings. I can not express how much fun this is! All of my brides and bridal parties have been so wonderful! I feel like everyone is so beautiful in their own way and the makeup I do only enhances the person they are.

And now guess what!?!??? I get the chance to meet my role model, not only meet Kandee but take a makeup class from her! I can not express how truly excited I am for this!

First post as a mature 29 year-old ( Ha ha ha )

As I sit here typing with my cup of coffee ( yes I'm can multitask like that ) I am so thankful for my 29th year! Yesterday was my birthday, and like every other normal person fast approaching the big 3 0, I decided to document my crazy beautiful life!

My birthday went like this...

I got to SLEEP IN! Yes a mother got to sleep in until 9am.... (Ok that is sleeping in for me) I know every other mother with little ones are jelly that I got to sleep in on a Monday!

Woke up to a beautiful new coffee cup with a Starbucks gift card inside aka Liquid Gold! Ate some yummy "breakfast bars" or as boring people would like to call my breakfast of choice, 2 chocolate chip oatmeal cookies, but breakfast bars sound way healthier! Feel free to start calling cookies breakfast bars!

Isn't that coffee cup the cutest you have ever seen?! 

Later on that afternoon my sweet little girl filled up water balloons and we proceeded to engage in the best water balloon fight ever!!! ( sorry no picture as I didn't want my phone to get wet , just picture me getting beat by an 8 year-old haha) 

That evening if my day wasn't already AMAZing off to Disney World I went with a great friend! Who doesn't love to be called a princess on their birthday and wear Mickey ears!?! 

I love how everyone wishes you " Happy Birthday " when you have this baby on at the parks! 

AND if I already didn't feel like a big kid just riding the rides and being called a princess I got me a pair of the infamous Mickey ears! Oh... Yeah... They are totes cool! 

Did I mention that they monogram your name on these cute little ears?! 

All in all I had a "Magical" day!
